Zoustar sold to Widden Stud

Widden Stud has purchased Zoustar in advance of the colt’s next assignment in the G1 VRC Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) at Flemington this Saturday.

Zoustar is a son of former Widden resident Northern Meteor who died earlier this year.  He had won the Coolmore Stakes in 2008.

“He’s a horse we’ve been following since Day 1 and it’s been very exciting to watch his career unfold from a debut win at two to being the best three year-old sprinting colt of his generation,” studmaster Antony Thompson said.

“Northern Meteor made such a huge impact for us in the short time that we were lucky enough to have him, so it seems only right that his best son should follow in his footsteps and join us at Widden.”

Zoustar has already won five races including the G1 Golden Rose and he will campaign into the autumn with the possibility of a trip to Royal Ascot.
