Zenyatta’s half-sister catalogued for Keeneland November Sale

A half sister to USA Horse of the Year Zenyatta will be offered at the 2011 Keeneland November Sale.  The filly foal is from the second crop of Coolmore champion Henrythenavigator.

“We are excited to be given the opportunity to sell such a jewel,” Keeneland manager Andrew Cary said.  “She is the complete package.”

The weanling filly is also a half sister to G1 winner Balance (Thunder Gulch).  She is the dam of last year’s Keeneland September yearling sale-topper Mr. Besilu (A.P. Indy) who sold for $4.2 million.

Vertigineux has a two year-old Bernardini filly named Eblouissante in training with Zenyatta’s trainer John Shireffs as well as a yearling filly by Henrythenavigator.

Zenyatta (Street Cry – Vertigineux by Kris S.) won 19 of her 20 starts earning $7.30 million.  Her 13 Group 1 victories included the 2009 Breeders’ Cup Classic and the 2008 Breeders’ Cup Ladies’ Classic.  She is currently carrying her first foal by leading sire Bernardini.

Henrythenavigator (Kingmambo) won the English & Irish 2000 Guineas, St. James’s Palace Stakes and Sussex Stakes.  He stands at Coolmore’s Kentucky base at Ashford Stud.
