Whoshe (NZ) favoured in Listed Soliloquy Stakes

Whoshe (NZ) will be suited by the set-weights scale of the LR Soliloquy Stakes (1400m) Ellerslie this Saturday.

The Te Awamutu based filly scored a gutsy win against the colts last time out in the LR Wanganui Stakes and would normally be shouldering more than her rivals.

The Soliloquy Stakes is the second leg of the NZ Bloodstock Filly of the Year Series.  Anabandana (Anabaa) won the opening leg in the G3 Gold Trail Stakes last Saturday.

Whoshe (3f Storm Creek – Lesley Coup by Prized) is trained by Richard Otto and Mark Brooks.  She won over this course and distance in the LR Great Northern Foal Stakes in May.

Stephen McKee will have two fillies in the race with Society Lady (O’Reilly) and Centre Point (Elusive City) who have both drawn wide barriers.

Society Lady ran a creditable fourth to Antonio Lombardo in the Listed Challenge Stakes.  Centre Point was impressive when a close second to Uwillbeglorious at Ruakaka a fortnight ago.  She’s still a maiden but is progressing nicely and is one to watch.

The Graham Richardson trained Miss Upstart (Snippetson) proved that she is a very capable filly when winning the LR Murdoch Newell Stakes at two.   She had no luck first-up in the Listed Fillies Stakes at Wanganui earlier this month but should have taken a good deal of improvement from the race.

River Nymph (Captain Rio) and Miss Pelear (Mr. Nancho) were third and fourth respectively at Wanganui.  Both are lightly raced and won their maidens two starts back as juveniles.

Faraway Eyes (Ustinov) comes into the race after winning her maiden at Ruakaka for trainer Michael Lawlor.  She beat Perfect Katch (Perfectly Ready) by two lengths.

Andrew Scott will be represented by Ready Steady (Perfectly Ready) who won the Countdown to the Karaka Million last December beating Dowager Queen (Savabeel).  She will be ridden by Opie Bosson who rode Anabandana last weekend.
