Westbury Stud leads Day 2 gallops for NZB 2YO Sale

Day 2 of Breeze Ups for NZ Bloodstock’s Ready to Run 2YO Sale concluded on Tuesday after another 186 Lots galloped 200 metres down the Te Rapa home straight.

The track was upgraded overnight to a Good 3 surface and the average time of 10.82 seconds was a fraction quicker than Monday’s standard of 10.85 seconds.

The fastest times on Tuesday were recorded in the same heat by the Westbury Stud pair of Lot 252 (Red Giant – Sweet Vibes) in 10.00 seconds and Lot 398 (Align – Danness) who was clocked at 10.01 seconds.

Westbury Stud is represented by a large draft of 23 two-year-olds as part of the stud’s strategy to grow its presence at this Sale into the future.

Diamond Lodge produced Lot 319 (O’Reilly – Aria) and Lot 328 (Postponed – Ballyalla) to work a comfortable 10.32 seconds.

There are 29 Lots catalogued by Diamond Lodge and another of its entrants – Lot 21 (Nicconi – Golden Lasso) – galloped in impressive fashion on its own in a time of 10.06 seconds.

Mana Park’s impressive Lot 155 (Exceed and Excel – On Hallowed Ground) breezed well with stablemate Lot 351 (Sakhee’s Secret – Black Grace) in 10.17 seconds and 10.19 seconds respectively.  Mana Park has 31 lots catalogued at the Sale.

Another pair to catch the eye were the Beatson Stables pair of Lot 425 (Starcraft – Enchantress) and Lot 106 (Alamosa – Marcey’s Belt).  The Starcraft youngster clocked 10.04 seconds and his stablemate 10.07 seconds.

Perennial 2YO Sale leader Lyndhurst Farm produced Lot 209 (Written Tycoon – Shacklady) who recorded 10.48 seconds ahead of Lot 63 (Mastercraftsman – Kew) who logged 10.49 seconds.

Lyndhurst will be represented by 21 two-year-olds at Karaka next month.

The Zabeels were prominent with Lot 146 (ex Mydanehillprincess) comfortably working over 200m in 10.61 second time in conjunction with Lot 371 (Holy Roman Emperor – Centafit).
