Warwick Farm win a bonus for Hendricus

Mossman colt Hendricus powered past his rivals to land a plunge in the $100,000 Inglis Bonus Mile at Warwick Farm on Saturday.

Trainer John O’Shea bought Hendricus out of the Twin Palms draft at the 2010 Inglis Easter II yearling sale for $62,500.  “He is a talented colt and has a good race in him,” O’Shea said.  “He’s raced by a lovely group of owners and we will tip him out and target races like the Scone Guineas next year.”

Hendricus (3c Mossman – Only Vanda by Linamix) won an Inglis bonus on Wagga Wagga Cup day in May and scored first-up this season at Randwick in October.  He clocked a class-record 1.36.31s for 1600m on Saturday and has now earned over $167,400 in prizemoney and bonuses.

He races for the same connections as older half-sister Warpath (Reset) who has won 7 races including the LR Aspiration Hcp at Warwick Farm.

Their dam Only Vanda also foaled Sandown winner Limerock (Charge Forward).  She was bred in USA and arrived here to win at Canterbury for Twin Palms.  She has a 2yo colt named Credit Only (Charge Forward), a yearling colt by Redoute’s Choice and a Manhattan Rain colt born in October.

Vinery resident Mossman sired his 17th stakes winner when Under The Eiffel was successful in the G3 Sandown Stakes last Saturday.  He stands for a $27,500 (inc gst) service fee at Vinery.
