Wadham Park dispersal at Oaklands Junction

Wadham Park will disperse its racing stable at the Inglis August Sale in Melbourne on August 17.

The unreserved dispersal comprises 37 racehorses including city winning mares Ravenous Lass, Simply Put, Lis Nediym and Zeftabaa.

Wadham Park owner Peter Rowsthorn developed the racing arm of the business in conjunction with a stallion station at Woodside Park at Tylden.  The former Toll Holdings chairman stands Foreplay (Danehill), Econsul (Pins) and Grey Swallow (Daylami).

“We recently undertook a complete review of all our operations,” managing director Dale Sutton said.  “We came to the decision that our immediate focus will be directed to the breeding part of the organisation.

“While this is a significant change in direction for us, we are very excited about the future, with a number of facilities and resources available at Wadham Park to be utilised in the expansion of Woodside Park.

“We will be adding depth to our broodmare band to support our current stallions.  In addition, we will be positioning ourselves to take advantage of future stallion prospects as they become available.”

Supplementary entries for the Inglis August Sale close on Thursday, August 9.
