Vinery parades during Scone Cup carnival

Vinery Stud will once again host daily Stallion Parades during the Scone Cup carnival amid an exciting weekend for its stallions.

Broodmare owners in town for the races and sales are invited to the parades which will be held at 9am this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Vinery champion More Than Ready has USA star Verrazano making his English debut on Saturday.  He will run in the G1 Lockinge Stakes at Newbury as long as the ground is no worse than good.

Ballydoyle trainer Aidan O’Brien has ambitious plans for Verrazano – the G1 Queen Anne Stakes on June 17 is his goal at Royal Ascot.

More Than Ready is just finishing his latest book in Kentucky leaving Testa Rossa to lead the stallion parade at Scone.

Testa Rossa filly Twilight Royale is in contention for almost $2.65 million in prizemoney and bonuses if she wins the $400,000 Inglis Scone Guineas (1400m) this Saturday.

Twilight Royale is the only horse eligible after winning the first two legs of the multi-million dollar series at Warwick Farm and Flemington last season.

Trainer Bjorn Baker has planned her Inglis Guineas campaign carefully this year.  “I sent her up to Scone and she spent some time at Attunga Stud and some time with Rod Northam,” he said.  “Rod took her to the races several times so she will be very familiar with the surroundings.”

Mossman is another Vinery sire enjoying a career-high season and more black-type beckons when Dothraki and Hopfgarten line up in the G3 Fred Best Classic at Doomben this Saturday.

Champion colt All Too Hard will also parade at Vinery during the Scone Cup weekend in the lead-up to his second season at stud along with Breeders’ Cup Juvenile winner Pluck, Husson, Casino Prince, Dubleo, Excites and Onemorenomore.

Light refreshments will be offered from 8.30am for the 9am parades on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
