Victoria’s champion-elect sire Written Tycoon is all set to break the 100 winner milestone this season.
Woodside Park’s red-hot sire made it 99 individual winners since August 1 with his Queensland based two year-old Tyzone who scored second time out at Townsville last Thursday.
Written Tycoon will make a century before two of his yearlings go under the hammer at the Inglis Easter yearling sale next week. The colt from True Seduction (Lot 119) is on account of Carramar Park and his filly out of Betula Belle (Lot 200) is part of the draft from Amarina Farm
The Amarina filly (pictured below) is a full-sister to G2 Caulfield Sprint winner Howmuchdoyouloveme. “She’s a real good sort and has huge residual value,” studmaster Craig Anderson said. “She’s a November 21 foal so will keep maturing into a very likeable filly.”
Written Tycoon was Australia’s Champion First-Season Sire in 2010-11 but this is the first year his yearlings have been accepted for the Inglis Easter Sale. His current crop sold to $230,000 at both the Gold Coast and Melbourne sales earlier this year.
Both youngsters will stay in Victoria. The Magic Millions colt was purchased by trainer Mark Riley and his Inglis Premier filly was knocked down to owner Barrie Griffiths.
