Touchstone stallions double up at Belmont

Vital Importance and The Rising continued the recent winning form of Touchstone stallions Vital Equine and Flying Pegasus at Belmont on Saturday.

After a shock defeat two weeks ago, The Rising (Flying Pegasus) returned to his best with an impressive win and now boasts an enviable record of six wins from seven starts.

From the Touchstone Farm draft at the 2011 Perth Magic Millions, he was purchased by Trevor Andrews for $60,000 and with earnings in excess of $355,000 in prizemoney and Westspeed bonuses, he has certainly been a very astute purchase.

His half sister by Planet Five will no doubt create interest at the Perth Magic Millions next year and will be the last foal produced by Glenn’s Girl who passed away earlier this year.

Vital Importance (Vital Equine) was a bargain buy for premier trainer Neville Parnham costing just $5,000 at the  2012 Perth Magic Millions sale from the Gervase Park draft.

She could not have been more impressive in winning her last three starts and, with a powerful turn of foot, looks to have a bright future and could well be a WA Oaks filly this time next year.

With the ‘Early Bird’ discounts, Flying Pegasus and Vital Equine are both available at $2,200.00 (inc gst) and along with Planet Five represent great value this breeding season.
