Top-class Easter trio from Makybe

Tony Santic has sold four million-dollar yearlings at Inglis Easter Sales in the last decade and he’s back with a beautifully-bred trio of Victorian yearlings from Makybe.

They will be sold through the Milburn Creek consignment starting with the All Too Hard – Climatic colt (Lot 239).  “There’s a lot of his sire in the colt,” studmaster Scott Holcombe revealed.  “His head, the way he walks and I’m sure there’s some of the same ability.”

Fastnet Rock’s filly from Gold Chant (Lot 326) hails from a family that has produced the likes of Group 1 racehorse and sire Starspangledbanner off Makybe’s paddocks at Gnarwarre.  She is also a younger sister to the Chris Waller trained filly Amicus who won the G2 Breeders’ Classic at Randwick last month.

“She’s in the same mould as Amicus,” Holcombe said.  “She’s all quality and I can see her developing into a very good three year-old filly.”

The Redoute’s Choice – Life In A Metro colt (Lot 383) rounds out the Makybe draft with a ready endorsement from Holcombe.  “He’s one of the better Redoute’s Choice colts at the Easter Sale.  A lovely individual who will be a very smart two year-old.”
