Top billing for Belmont Bloodstock

Belmont Bloodstock Agency topped the leader-board at the Inglis Ready2Race Sale with a Written Tycoon colt that cost $310,000.

He was pin-hooked by Mittagong-based Chevaux Bloodstock for $64,000 at the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale Summer Book.

By the same sire as G1 Golden Slipper winner Capitalist and G1 Doomben 10,000 winner Music Magnate, the colt is out of three-time winner Best Feature (Secret Savings).

Belmont Bloodstock’s Damon Gabbedy said Written Tycoon’s progeny were red hot at present and the Woodside Park Stud stallion had proven he could get early runners and horses that trained on as older horses.

“This colt is a really good individual who breezed up really well and he was a pretty obvious horse,” Gabbedy said.  “The stallion is flying and I think Written Tycoon’s yearlings from next season will be out of better mares and will sell extremely well.”

Gabbedy also paid $100,000 to Corinella-based Lauriston Thoroughbred Farm for a Statue of Liberty-Saratoga Miss colt that clocked the fifth fastest breeze-up at Cranbourne in 10.55s.

Sheamus Mills was happy with three colts he bought topped by the $300,000 Street Cry half-brother to Henry Dwyer’s promising 3yo filly Leotie.  The colt was purchased on behalf of Yu Long Investments from Baystone Farm.

He also purchased a pair by So You Think from Baystone ($85,000) and Lauriston Thoroughbred Farm ($70,000).

Other Victorian vendors targeted by FBAA members were Laceby Lodge ($100k Helmet – Tamtheel colt to DGR Thoroughbreds) and Frankie Stockdale $32k) So You Think – Soft Landing colt to Randwick Bloodstock).
