Arrowfield Stud has announced Real Impact, Scissor Kick and Panzer Division will join its roster in 2016.
Chairman John Messara said the trio reflect Arrowfield’s twin strategies of sourcing effective international outcrosses for Australian breeders while still pursuing the strongest branches of the Danehill sireline.
“Real Impact is a top-drawer son of Japan’s dominant sire Deep Impact and has demonstrated his racing class against our best milers,” Messara stated. “Scissor Kick and Panzer Division offer all the physical, genetic and racing attributes required to build the Redoute’s Choice legacy alongside Snitzel and Not A Single Doubt, and to fill the gap left by Beneteau.”
REAL IMPACT (Deep Impact – Tokio Reality by Meadowlake)
Already established as one of Japan’s best milers before coming to Australia last year to contest The Championships. His two Australian starts yielded a tremendous first-up win in the G1 George Ryder Stakes before a brave second in the G1 Doncaster starting from an outside barrier and giving 4kg to the winner Kermadec.
Real Impact won on debut at two and was runner-up in Group 1 and Group 2 company behind Japan’s Champion Colt Grand Prix Boss. He trained on at three to win the G1 Tokyo Yasuda Kinen (1600m) in a staggering 1:32s.
Real Impact was awarded a Timeform rating of 124 and is currently serving his first book at Shadai Stallion Station,
SCISSOR KICK (Redoute’s Choice – Back Pass by Quest For Fame)
Scissor Kick was an impressive juvenile winner before establishing himself among Australia’s stellar colts at three. He won the LR Rosebud Hcp (1200m) and G3 Up and Coming Stakes (1300m) before a game second to Hallowed Crown in the G1 Golden Rose (1400m).
His autumn campaign began with success in the G3 Eskimo Prince Stakes (1200m) beating subsequent Group 1 winners Delectation and Kermadec. After a brief let-up due to a virus, he was then beaten a length by Dissident, Wandjina & Chautauqua in the G1 All Aged Stakes (1400m).
Scissor Kick is an exceptionally handsome and very fast son of dominant sire of sires Redoute’s Choice and he hails from the sire-producing female family of Danehill’s leading European son Dansili.
PANZER DIVISION (Redoute’s Choice – Desert Fight by Hussonet)
Panzer Division was an impressive debut winner at two and progressed to a Group 3 success in the Ming Dynasty (1400m) at Randwick defeating subsequent G1 Caulfield Guineas winner Shooting To Win.
An injury forced an end to his career after 7 starts for trainer Paul Messara. “Panzer Division is close to the perfect thoroughbred horse on conformation and presence, he’s a stunning individual,” Messara said. “He also had a huge amount of ability and we had high aspirations for him, but his career was cut short in the Hobartville Stakes.”
The 2016 service fees for Arrowfield’s stallion roster, including Real Impact, Scissor Kick & Panzer Division, will be announced on Monday, April 11.
