Third winner for Big Brown

Vinery shuttler Big Brown sired his third winner on the Arlington Park turf course on Saturday.

Brown Almighty (2c Big Brown – Gone Goodbye by Gone For Real) won on debut over 1600m for trainer Tim Ice and Tri-Star Racing.  He was a $50,000 graduate as a foal at the 2010 Keeneland November Sale but was worth only $22,000 when reappearing at the 2012 Ocala 2YO Sale in April.

Big Brown sired his first two winners in June with Ruby Brown (Russia) and Brown Eyes Blue (Churchill Downs).

Brown Almighty broke well and settled third with Francisco Torres aboard.  A flashy chestnut with a prominent white blaze, he split horses in the straight with a quick turn of acceleration to score by next to two lengths.

Big Brown claimed the Kentucky Derby – Preakness Stakes double in 2008 and is showing early signs of becoming a very effective stallion.  He will shuttle to Vinery for a $22,000 fee this year.
