Andreya’s Reward became the third stakes winner for Spendthrift Australian shuttler Warrior’s Reward (USA) in Florida on Saturday.
Trained by Milton Wolfson, Andreya’s Reward exploded in the straight for a decisive victory in the LR Our Dear Peggy Stakes (1600m). She won by two lengths from Harlan’s Darlin (Harlan’s Holiday) and it marked her second dominant win over a mile on turf at Gulfstream Park following a four-length maiden back in August.
Wolfson sent her interstate last month to finish fifth in the $300,000 Kentucky Downs Juvenile Fillies Stakes before returning home to Florida. A promising filly with a bright future ahead, she was bred by “Share The Upside” participants Bob Horton, Rae Horton, and Charles Middleton.
Andreya’s Reward (2f Warrior’s Reward – Deal Us In by Mister Baileys) is a younger half-sister to winners by Spendthrift sire Into Mischief and Victorian shuttler Artie Schiller. Their dam is an unraced sister to Group 1 performer Cool Ashlee.
Warrior’s Reward (Medaglia d’Oro) sired another maiden winner on Saturday when Fighting Iris scored a front-running victory at Northlands Park in Canada. The Spendthrift Farm bred filly is from Macellya, a mare sired by Australian champion Testa Rossa when he shuttled to France in 2003.
Spendthrift Australia shuttles Warrior’s Reward to its Romsey base in Victoria for an $11,000 (inc gst) fee or $13,750 (inc gst) as part of their Share The Upside program.
