The Pontiff wins on The Pro

Paul Harvey couldn’t have asked for a easier ride to come back a winner on Double The Pro at Narrogin on Thursday.

The Proart 3yo circled the leaders on the corner and cruised home by over a length in the Get The TABTouch Maiden (1100m).  He started an odds-on favourite after Bunbury placings on either side of Xmas-New Year.

Harvey, 47, had been off the scene since March 2017.  ‘The Pontiff’ is a WA Hall of Fame jockey after winning a record 12 Perth premierships.

Double The Pro is trained by Trevor Andrews for Rapid Equine owner-breeder Neil Irvine and is from Bunbury winner Twice The Magic (Second Empire).  The dam hails from the family of Jungle Dawn & Jungle Mist.

Proart is based at Balmoral Park Stud.  Irvine owns the Bedfordale property and, apart from standing the stakes winning son of Rock Of Gibraltar, offers agistment, pre-training and breaking-in services.

Balmoral Park manager Brian Collison is currently educating Proart’s latest crop of yearlings and there are shares available in them by calling to arrange an inspection on 0411 055 164.
