Tasmanian Magic Millions updates in Hobart

There were several significant pedigree updates to the 2013 Tasmanian Magic Millions catalogue in Hobart on Sunday.

Grand Tycoon (Written Tycoon) completed a hat-trick with a convincing two length victory in the Alexandra 2YO Plate (1000m) from Triple Bee (Incumbent) and Geegee Redrock (Wordsmith).

Trainer Barry Campbell will push on to the Alfa Bowl (1100m) in Launceston on January 16 with his unbeaten youngster.  An Incumbent half-sister to Grand Tycoon will be offered by Guthrie Performance Horse at the Magic Millions yearling sale on February 14.

Hell Strong (Tough Speed) improved his record to 6 wins in 24 starts with a sold victory in the TattsBet Benchmark Hcp (1600m).  He shouldered 58.5kg to a front-running victory for trainers Dave and Scott Brunton.

Armidale Stud is preparing a Savoire Vivre half-brother to Hell Strong for the Magic Millions.  Their dam Gehenna (Ladoni) was a Listed winner of the 2003 Cascade Classic.

The Cleaner (Savoire Vivre) defied running down in the featured Kevin Sharkie Tasmanian Stakes (1600m).  The $90,000 weight-for-age victory was his first at black-type level – he had won the Brighton and Longford Cups earlier this year before a successful trip across Bass Strait to Sandown Lakeside in August.

The Cleaner was purchased by trainer Mick Burles from the 2009 Tasmanian Magic Millions.  He was offered by breeders Owen and Sandy Atkins and changed hands for just $10,000.

Burles will target the G3 AAMI Hobart Cup is with The Cleaner.  He appears in the pedigrees of the Incumbent – Nip of Scotch colt (Lot 87) and the Murtajill – Private Nip filly (Lot 98) at the Magic Millions.
