Take This Waltz secures Inglis $50,000 Country Bonus

Not A Single Doubt gelding Take This Waltz became the third horse to earn one of the lucrative  bonuses in the $2.5 million Inglis Race Series when saluting in the Inglis Series 2YO Handicap at Wagga Wagga on Thursday.

Take This Waltz ($65,000 2008 Easter, 2g Not A Single Doubt-Sway With Me) beat home fellow Inglis Race Series entrants No Respite ($45,000 2008 Classic, 2g Bel Esprit-Steely Dancer) and Hewentwhoosh ($4,500 2008 Scone, Dane Shadow-Zebithea), picking up a $50,000 bonus in addtion to the $12,800 first prizemoney and BOBS bonus.

The Danny Williams trained two-year-old’s collection of the Country Bonus follows on from the $50,000 and $100,000 Provincial and Metropolitan bonuses won by fellow Inglis Yearling Sale graduates Tale Of Love and Delago Bolt since February this year.

The next chance to take home an Inglis Bonus is at Hawkesbury on Guineas Day Saturday May 9, where a $100,000 bonus will be on offer on the Reavill Farm Inglis Series 2YO Handicap over 1200m.

This follows on the back of the inaugural $100,000 Inglis Plate , to be run at Warrnambool next Thursday May 7.

The Inglis Race Series then sweeps north to the Hunter Valley with the running of the $100,000 Inglis Challenge on Scone Cup Day, Friday May 7, the day after the Inglis Scone Yearling Sale at White Park, Scone.

After his strong performance today, the Brett Thompson trained Hewentwhoosh confirmed his position at the top of the order of entry for the 1300m race for two-year-olds purchased at the 2008 Inglis Scone Yearling Sale.

Nominations for 2009 Inglis Sale graduates for next season’s series close on July 31.

Buyers are also reminded that all horses purchased at the upcoming HTBA Scone Yearling Sale on Thursday May 14 are also eligible to be nominated for the $2,500,000 Inglis Race Series.
