Sydney Tycoon heads to Melbourne

Written Tycoon sprinter Music Magnate has booked a trip to Flemington with a quick double-up in Sydney.

The Bjorn Baker trained four-year-old was a strong winner of the October Hcp (1400m) at Randwick following a Rosehill victory a fortnight ago.  He defeated San Diego (Exceed And Excel) and NZ import Cosmic Cube (Dehere).

Baker has now flagged a start in the G2 Salinger Stakes (1200m) at Flemington on Saturday, October 31.  “While he’s in winning form I want to keep him going.  I would like to take him down for that straight-race on Derby Day.”

Music Magnate lengthened to convincing victory on Saturday – he has won 4 times in 9 starts since a Warwick Farm maiden in December 2014.

Music Magnate (4g Written Tycoon – Concert Girl by Danehill Dancer) was a $45,000 buy at the 2013 NZ Karaka Select Sale and is from a half-sister to Marrok (G2 NZ Wellington Guineas) and Appeal Process (G3 SAf Egoli Sprint).

Written Tycoon struck first in this season’s two year-old division with Capitalist a cracking winner of the LR Breeders’ Plate at Randwick.  The Peter Snowden trained colt is the early favourite for the Magic Millions 2YO Classic in January.

Woodside Park stands Written Tycoon – the sire of 12 stakes winners – for a $19,800 (inc gst) fee.
