Swettenham’s Group 1 graduate in Malaysia

Swettenham Stud graduate Good Baby enhanced his reputation as Malaysia’s best galloper in recent years with a fourth domestic Group 1 victory on Sunday.

He won the G1 Woodside Park Sprint Trophy (1400m) in Penang by 8 lengths from Rush (Charge Forward) and Carbon Copy (Volksraad).  It was his 13th win in 45 starts for earnings the equivalent of AUD 899,273.

Good Baby (7g Hussonet – Secret Haze by Danehill) was bred by Swettenham and sold as a foal for $110,000 at the 2008 Magic Millions National Sale.  He was educated by Perth trainer Joe Byrne and claimed the G3 Magic Millions Classic at Penang before graduating to Group 1 wins in the 2012 Sultan Gold Vase at Perak, 2013 Selangor Gold Cup and 2014 Coronation Cup at Perak.

His dam Secret Haze won five races in Melbourne and Adelaide and second dam Cajun Magic (Twig Moss) is a half-sister to Swettenham’s 1987 Golden Slipper winner Marauding (Sir Tristram).  She has a rising 2yo colt named Secret Image (Ready’s Image) but has since missed to High Chaparral and Dalakhani.
