Sun Ruler correction for NZB Winter Sale

One of the many attractive entries on offer at New Zealand Bloodstock’s Winter Sale is the blue-blooded stallion Sun Ruler.

An error on the catalogue page indicates Sun Ruler is a windsucker.  NZ Bloodstock assures prospective buyers that’s incorrect.  The horse has not been seen to windsuck.

Sun Ruler (6h Zabeel – Sunline by Desert Sun) will be offered as Lot 75 at Karaka on August 3.  He is a son of champion sire Zabeel who is also carving out a reputation as a sire of sires with Savabeel getting the G1 Derby winners Sangster and Brambles this season.

Zabeel is also the grandsire of Lonhro.  The Darley resident was Champion Australian sire in 2010-11and his latest crop of two year-olds is headed by Golden Slipper winning colt Pierro.

Sun Ruler’s dam is the champion New Zealand mare Sunline.  She won 13 Group 1 races including the W S Cox Plate (twice), Doncaster Hcp (twice) and Hong Kong Mile.

A $2 million yearling, Sun Ruler is being sold to dissolve a partnership at the Winter Sale which will also feature broodmares, yearlings, two-year-olds and leading host of racing and breeding propositions.
