Breeders across the nation have again thrown their support behind Super VOBIS with a strong book of nominations received from owners of eligible 2014-born foals.
Interest in the scheme has seen 2,582 horses paid-up for Victoria’s premier breeding and racing incentive scheme when nominations closed on February 1, the third year in a row that nominations have exceeded 2500.
Racing Victoria’s Executive General Manager – Racing, Greg Carpenter, said he was thrilled with the outstanding response to the scheme, which reflected the growing popularity of Super VOBIS.
“Breeders and owners have given us yet another indication that they have tremendous faith in the Super VOBIS scheme,” he said. “Last year we recorded an 11-year high number of nominations off the back of the reinvigoration of the Super VOBIS and VOBIS Gold schemes and I am confident that we can again exceed last year’s outstanding nomination figures by the close of late-nominations on Wednesday, 31 August.”
Horses must first be nominated to Super VOBIS to be eligible for VOBIS Gold.
