Street Cry heads roster at Darley Australia

Darley has announced the stud fees for the 23 stallions that will stand in Australia for the 2013 breeding season.

STREET CRY, a leading sire in both hemispheres and sire of 13 individual G1 winners to date, will head the roster at an unchanged fee of $110,000 (inc gst).  Street Cry’s current juvenile crop has made an immediate impact on the track with two-year-old fillies Metastasio and Za Moulin Rouge both claiming stakes races this season.

EXCEED AND EXCEL, Australia’s leading stallion, has enjoyed a stupendous 2012-13 racing season, producing 15 stakes winners of 22 stakes races, matched by no other stallion in the country.  He has sired an incredible 7 individual two-year-old Group winners this season including G1 Golden Slipper heroine Overreach and G1 Sires’ Produce Stakes winner Guelph.  Exceed And Excel will stand at a fee of $88,000 (inc gst).

NEW APPROACH, Europe’s 2012 Champion first season sire, is one of the most exciting young stallions in the world and returns to Northwood Park this season.  At Royal Ascot in 2012, New Approach sired three juvenile stakes winners, the only stallion in history to achieve that feat and his dual G1-winning son and Champion 2YO Dawn Approach remains unbeaten.  In Australia, among his first-crop winners is smart two-year-old filly Montsegur who won the G3 Breeders Stakes having finished second two starts earlier at G3 level to recent G1 winner Guelph.  New Approach will stand at a fee of $55,000 (inc gst).

LONHRO, sire of five-time G1 winning Champion Pierro, will stand the forthcoming season at a fee of $88,000 (inc gst)

“The Darley stallions have had an extraordinary year,” Darley’s Alastair Pulford said.  “Three are ranked in the top four on the leading sires’ table including Australia’s No.1 stallion Exceed And Excel who has surpassed all of our dreams this autumn.”

“TEOFILO, who missed the last southern hemisphere season, is returning in 2013.  He had a superb year in Europe and he has now sired G1 winners in each of his first two crops in Europe.

“MEDAGLIA D’ORO has been the leading first season sire at both Easter and the Magic Millions yearling sales and Denman’s first crop of yearlings has also been particularly well received.”
