Starry Eyed leader at Scone Broodmare Sale

Starry Eyed topped Friday’s Inglis Scone Broodmare Sale to the bid of Vin Cox Bloodstock agent Garry Cuddy.  Offered by Coolmore Stud (as agent), she made $42,000 in foal to Henrythenavigator.

Cuddy also topped Day 1 of the Inglis Melbourne August Sale last Thursday with $40,000 for Choisir mare Shake Shake Shake.

Starry Eyed (Rock of Gibraltar) was a Moonee Valley winner and is a daughter of G1 winning mare Starstruck (Haulpak).  Her 22 year-old dam was also catalogued for the Scone Sale and made $7,000 to a NSW buyer.

Danehill mare Magical Roma, carrying a positive test to Widden sire Northern Meteor, brought the day’s second highest lot at $30,000.

Overall, 112 mares changed hands for $458,350 at a strong clearance rate of 87%.

The next auction on the Inglis calendar is the Spring Sale in Sydney on September 23.  Entries close on September 16.
