Sparks fly with Sound Cascade

Ready’s Image colt Sound Cascade sent sparks flying with a front-running victory in Japan on Saturday.

Sound Cascade (3c Ready’s Image – Naughtier by Wild Zone) had won his maiden at Niigata in August and there was no mistaking he meant business when back in action at Fukushima.

He spreadeagled a strong sprint field with an opening 400m sectional of 20.10s and, with the job done, cruised home by more than three lengths in an allowance event worth the equivalent of AUD 136,575.

Sound Cascade is living up to the potential on show before the Florida 2YO Sale in March 2102.  He was popular after drilling a bullet 200m in 10s and cost Japanese owner Yuichi Masuda $120,000.

His dam Naughtier won two minor races after beginning her career as a four year-old.  Equus Farms purchased the mare, while she was carrying Sound Cascade, in November 2009.  Equus Farms also bred Ready’s Image stakes winning filly I’m Already Sexy.

Ready’s Image (More Than Ready) isn’t standing at Lincoln Farm this spring.  He shuttled from Walmac Farm to the Hunter Valley for four years but was a late withdrawal for 2013.
