So You Think returns for final campaign

So You Think (NZ) has been entered for the G1 Tattersalls Cup (2100m) at the Curragh this Sunday.  The Coolmore Champion won the same race last year by four lengths from Campanologist (USA).

The Aidan O’Brien-trained stallion is set to face a field that could also include stablemates Await The Dawn (Giant’s Causeway), Robin Hood (Galileo), St Nicholas Abbey (Montjeu), Treasure Beach (Galileo) and Windsor Palace (Danehill Dancer).

So You Think (High Chaparral) returns to a turf surface following unplaced runs in the G1 Breeders’ Cup Classic on dirt and G1 Dubai World Cup on a synthetic surface.

Should So You Think (NZ) win consecutive Tattersalls Gold Cups, he will be only the second horse in history to do so.  Yankee Gold (Lord Gayle) was successful in 1976 and 1977.

The Tattersalls Cup begins So You Think’s final campaign before he retires to stud at Coolmore Australia where he will stand for a fee of $66,000.  He’s also likely to start at Royal Ascot in June followed by the Coral Eclipse at Sandown in July.

So You Think has won 8 Group 1 races, including dual Cox Plates and three since transferring to O’Brien’s Ballydoyle stables in January 2011.
