Show-stopper at Armidale Stud

A tour of Tasmania’s leading studs continued preparations for the Magic Millions Sale on February 14.

Among the yearlings parading for prospective buyers was a standout filly by Bushranger at Armidale Stud.  Catalogued as Lot 55, she is from a half-sister to last-start LR Bernborough Hcp winner Alma’s Fury.  “She’s a striking ready-to-run filly and almost stole the show at Armidale,” TasBreeders spokesman Nick Hay said.  “She looks the type to go early.”

Bushranger (Ire) has four first-crop yearlings for sale at the Tasmanian Magic Millions.  Based at Eliza Park, he has close links with Vinery’s promising young sire Myboycharlie – they are by Danehill sire Danetime and both won the G1 Prix Morny at Deauville.

Armidale stallions combined for five winners in Launceston on Wednesday – Miss Eye Candy (Savoire Vivre), Cerise Sauvage (Savoire Vivre), Peron Dunes (Helike), Royal Miswaki (Tough Speed) and Isometry (Ladoni).

Tasmania’s industry-leader will be gunning for more glory in the G3 Bow Mistress Stakes in Hobart this Sunday with class mares Rebel Bride (Telesto), Buzzing Along (Tough Speed) and Los Skybo (Savoire Vivre).

Rebel Bride won the LR Tattsbett Stakes on January 23 and will be defending her title in Tasmania’s premier race for mares.  Armidale millionaire Lady Lynette (Ladoni) won the Bow Mistress in 2011.

Armidale’s Magic Millions yearlings can be inspected by contacting David Whishaw (0407 868 269) or Robyn Whishaw (0419 100 634).  They will be on site at the Inveresk Showgrounds from Tuesday, February 11.
