Sharp Susan tops a million at Easter Broodmare Sale

Group 2 winner Sharp Susan (USA) broke through the million-dollar mark during the first hour of the Inglis Easter Broodmare Sale on Tuesday morning.

Offered as part of the dispersal by Tyreel Stud’s Paul Fleming, Sharp Susan made $1,050,000 to the bid of Badgers Bloodstock.

Sharp Susan (Touch Gold – Winters Gone by Dynaformer) won 6 races topped by the G2 Lake Placid Stakes at Saratoga.  She is a half-sister to the G1 winners Spring At Last (Silver Deputy) and Sharp Lisa (Dixieland Band).

The millionaire mare foaled a Kentucky bred colt by A P Indy in 2010 before arriving in Australia in June 2011.  She was sold in foal to Street Cry.

Next on the leader-board during the early stages of the sale were Response (Charge Forward) at $840,000 and Anabandana (Anabaa) for $720,000.
