Seul Amour off the mark in South Africa

Former Australian based stallion Seul Amour sired his first winner at Turffontein on Saturday.

Heart Of A Lion (2c Seul Amour – Action Lady by Counter Action) scored a runaway 8 length victory over 1600m for trainer Gavin van Zyl.  He was bred by Terry Andrews and appreciated the step up in distance fourth time out.

Seul Amour (NZ) is a son of Zabeel from Group 1 winning mare Grand Archway.  He won six races in NZ and Australia for Graeme Rogerson highlighted by a Listed victory in the 2005 STC Sky High Stakes at Rosehill.

Retired to Eldon Park in 2006, he wasn’t supported by Super VOBIS breeders with just 78 live foals in his first three seasons at stud.

Standing over 17 hands, he was exported to South Africa in June 2009 and stands for a R20,000 service fee (AUD 2,160) at the Brad van der Riet operated Vanree Stud in the Western Cape.
