Banchory Stud has been on a winning roll in the lead-up to the Capricornia Sale this Sunday, April 14.
Owners Richard and Mary Lee Trivett have a half-dozen yearlings at Rockhampton and all six are by its resident stallion Seidnazar.
Seidnazar (Rory’s Jester) originally stood in NSW but was transferred to Banchory in 2010. The Capricornia Sale yearlings are part of his first crop bred in Queensland.
The Trivetts raced Seidnazar to a Listed victory in the MVRC St Albans Stakes and he was also runner-up to Undoubtedly in the G1 Blue Diamond Stakes. He was based at Riverdene Stud before relocating to their historic Darling Downs property.
He has sired 40 winners of 74 races with Singapore sprinter Kaiser top of the totem-pole. Trained by Theodore Kieser, he won 6 of his first 14 starts including the Aushorse Golden Horseshoe Preview.
Seidnazar sired a winning double last week – Promising 2yo filly La Mina was dominant in the QTIS 2YO Maiden Hcp at Goondiwindi while Bynazar won the QTIS 2YO Classic in Rockhampton for part-owner and trainer Leanne Applewaite.
Banchory associate Markane sired an impressive winner with Markout in the Ambassador Travel Class 6 Plate at Eagle Farm. He is going for two in a row at Doomben this Saturday and heads to the Winter Carnival in good form.
There are 6 Seidnazar yearlings at the Capricornia Sale from Banchory Thoroughbreds while there are another three from outside sires.
