Lyndhurst Stud’s Sequalo is making a dash for a second Queensland sires’ premiership after another winning double in Brisbane.
Agitate (2g Sequalo – Stirring by Align) collected $56,500 for winning the QTIS 2YO Handicap (1110m) on Saturday. The Kelly Schweida trained youngster doubled up within a fortnight at Doomben with a front-running victory as an odds-on favourite.
Seeking More (3g Sequalo – Coniston Lass by Lake Coniston) capped off a good day for the Lyndhurst champion with narrow victory in the QTIS 3YO Handicap (1110m). He also led from barrier-to-box to earn $53,000.
Sequalo splits Glenlogan Park pair Bradbury’s Luck and Show A Heart with four months of the season remaining. He has sired 65 winners of 92 races and $2.07 million in prizemoney.
Bradbury’s Luck leads the way with 56 winners of 87 races and $2.22 million. Show A Heart is third with 71 winners of 102 races and $1.81 million in prizemoney.
Sequalo won the 2003-04 Queensland title with earnings of $2.75 million. Lion Hunter won the next five titles in a row and Show A Heart has headed the table for the last four seasons.
