Two entrants for the upcoming NZ Bloodstock Winter Sale scored timely wins at Ruakaka on Saturday.  The Sale will be held at Karaka on August 3.

Pentango (Pentire) claimed her third win over 1600 metres and will be offered as Lot 70 as a racing and breeding proposition.  She had won races at Arawa Park and Ellerslie prior to last weekend’s result and was also fourth home in the LR Northland Stakes at Ruakaka in July 2009.

The Mike Moroney trained mare is a half-sister to stakes winner Volcada (Stravinsky).  Pentire’s daughters have made a good start at stud producing five stakes winners including G1 winner Shoot Out (High Chaparral).

The other NZB Winter Sale entrant to salute was Romario who will be offered at Lot 72.  He is trained by Graeme and Mark Sanders and was also winning for the third time at Ruakaka.

Romario (Captain Rio) is from a winning daughter of Randwick stakes performer Citidevil (Citidancer).
