Rogano home free at Oakland Park

Oakland Park has ensured Rogano will serve a sizable first book this year by offering his services free to stakes winning mares and mares that have already foaled stakes winners.

Rogano (5h Redoute’s Choice – Singles Bar by Rory’s Jester) is a younger brother to Arrowfield stallion Not A Single Doubt and he initially raced in Arrowfield’s colours after failing to reach an $800,000 reserve at the 2008 Gold Coast Magic Millions.

Under the guidance of trainer Paul Messara, he was a brilliant winner on debut at Canterbury as a late season two year-olds in June 2009.  Given a 36 week spell, he made it two-from-two with another all-the-way victory at Canterbury in March 2010.

“He’s the fastest horse I’ve trained,” Messara declared.  “Just pure, raw speed.”

After a fading fifth in the Listed STC Darby Munro Stakes at Rosehill, Rogano was sidelined for a further 12 months before returning for another first-up victory at Hawkesbury in April 2011.

Oakland Park owner Neville Duncan acted on Not A Single Doubt’s very promising start at stud with a successful offer to relocate Rogano to Western Australia.  He will stand for an advertised fee of $5,500 alongside Viscount (Quest For Fame).

Duncan is also offering breeders a partnership deal with Oakland Park.  Participants will be given a free lease of some of the stud’s broodmares to be covered by Rogano.  For further details contact Oakland Park Stud on 0417 200 097.
