The Central Queensland Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association has catalogued 74 lots for the Capricornia Yearling Sale in Rockhampton on Sunday, April 1.
The sale is run with the support of Magic Millions and CQTB President Neil Vagg said it traditionally represented good value for money, with previous graduates earning many times their purchase price.
“The odds are pretty good when you’re buying in a sale like this that you will see a return,” Vagg said. “We have reverted to a Sunday Sale and the Rockhampton Jockey Club will host the Capricornia Sales Classic 2YO Stakes and 3YO Championship on Saturday, March 31 at Callaghan Park.
Sale graduates include Aspiran ($249,000), River Lad $215,000 plus the likes of Bonny The Viper, Alespirit and Kilwinning Option who have won over $100,000. The most expensive among them was Kilwinning Option who sold for just $11,000.
