Rip Van Winkle heads roster at Windsor Park

Galileo’s European Group 1 winning son Rip Van Winkle returns to head Windsor Park’s stallion roster for 2013.

With champion Frankel heading Galileo’s stellar list of 127 stakes winners to date, Rip Van Winkle remains Galileo’s second-highest rated son at stud, sharing the same Timeform rating of 134 as his illustrious sire.  His third season fee has been set at $18,000.

European Champion Two-Year-Old and dual classic winning three-year-old Mastercraftsman will again accompany Rip Van Winkle on his southern sojourn from Ireland’s Coolmore Stud.

Mastercraftsman has made an exciting start to his stallion career with his first northern hemisphere two-year-old runner winning on debut in England recently.  As the best son of his outstanding sire Danehill Dancer (143 SW), Mastercraftsman looks well positioned to make an impact with his first runners here this spring, where he will stand for $17,500.

English Derby winner of 2011 Pour Moi, a leading son of champion sire Montjeu, also returns to Windsor Park from Coolmore for his second season.  Bred on the same successful Sadler’s Wells – Darshaan cross as his English Derby winning predecessor and leading sire High Chaparral, classic winner Pour Moi will stand the 2013 season for a fee of $16,000.

Group 1 sire Falkirk has enjoyed another successful season and is the sire of thirteen stakes performers, including 2012 Hong Kong Derby winner Fay Fay. His progeny have excelled as they have matured and he has the impressive record of 8 stakes horses from only 43 first crop runners.  With 13 winners from just 17 runners in Australia his progeny continue to be sought after for the important Australian and Asian markets and his fee for 2013 is set at $8000.

European Group 1 winning 2YO TheWayYouAre had his first crop yearlings sell strongly up to $200,000 at the 2013 NZB Karaka sales.  A close relation to Australia’s champion sire Redoute’s Choice, TheWayYouAre returns from Coolmore to stand at Windsor Park for $7500.

Completing Windsor Park’s stallion roster for 2013 will be the highly talented Australian Group winning miler Guillotine.  From just a handful of starters to date, Guillotine’s three placegetters and numerous trials winners point to an exciting season ahead for the impressive son of Montjeu.  His service fee has been set at $7000.

All fees exclude gst and include a live foal guarantee.
