Rich Hill sire guaranteed first-season title in NZ

Rich Hill resident Any Suggestion has been guaranteed NZ Champion first-season sire honours ever since Ockham’s Razor triumphed in the Karaka Million in January.

The Lion Hunter stallion went further ahead on the table when his son Killa Question turned the opening event at Trentham on Saturday into a procession.

Killa Question (2c Any Suggestion – Killa Loox by City On A Hill) never gave his rivals a look in with a bold front-running performance over 1200m.  “He’s a real professional and I told Darryl (Bradley) to jump and lead and make them chase,” Matamata trainer Paul Shailer said.  “He was just too good for them.”

Killa Question is a Rich Hill homebred and is from a half-sister to G1 Ellerslie Sires’ Produce Stakes winner Iflooxcouldkill (Dagger’s Drawn).  Shailer said the chestnut is now likely to aim at the Listed Castletown Stakes (1200m) at Ellerslie next month.

Any Suggestion will stand for a fee of $7,500 (+ gst) in 2012.  Rich Hill’s John Thompson stole a march on Australian and NZ studs last week when he signed up Jimmy Choux (Thorn Park).  The NZ Horse of the Year will stand for a $10,000 (+ gst) fee this year.
