Rich Hill Stud will hold the service fee for Pentire at $30,000 for 2012.
Pentire (GB) has enjoyed another stellar season with Group 1 success on both sides of the Tasman and his progeny continue to make good money at all the major sales.
“He has had another great year with top-flight performers the calibre of King Mufhasa, Say No More, Rangirangdoo and He’s Remarkable,” Rich Hill’s John Thompson said. “By leaving his fee unchanged it will give breeders the opportunity to continue to patronize a leading stallion at a realistic price.”
Rich Hill’s leading young freshman sire Any Suggestion will have a small fee increase to $7,500 after his brilliant start at stud. The exciting grey son of Lion Hunter has an unassailable lead on both the New Zealand 2YO and First Season Sires’ Premierships thanks to his Karaka Million winner Ockham’s Razor.
Melbourne Cup winner Shocking, New Zealand’s most popular freshman sire in 2011, will remain at $12,000. One of the best-performed Australian gallopers to take up stud duties in this country, the son of Street Cry will have his first foals on the ground later this year.
Following discussions with Lanwades Stud in England, former champion English juvenile and Epsom Derby winner Sir Percy will not shuttle to Rich Hill in 2012.
The stallion has been in major demand and is currently serving his largest ever Northern Hemisphere book. In light of his busy serving schedule, he will be rested from travelling for the 2012 southern hemisphere breeding season.
All fees are NZ$ and do not include GST.
