Red Centre beginner for Bramshaw

The Ken Rogerson trained filly Shawly Coco has added her name to the list of winning graduates from the Inglis Red Centre yearling sale.

Shawly Coco (2f Bramshaw – Coco Hero by Clay Hero) won the Yellowglen 2YO Dash (1100m) at Pioneer Park last Saturday.  She blew the start but was good enough to turn the tables on Prada Gold (Denon) who had beaten her on debut last month.

The winner was a $6,250 buy at the 2011 Inglis Red Centre Sale.  She was the final lot among 15 yearlings sold in Alice Springs last year.

Shawly Coco had originally changed hands for $4,000 at the Inglis Melbourne Autumn yearling sale when offered by Phoenix Farm.  Her dam Coco Hero also foaled Mister Farinelli (Lacryma Cristi) who completed a hat-trick at Bordertown in March.  The mare is an unraced daughter of Awapuni G3 winner Ketchikau (Kreisler).

The Yellowglen 2YO Dash result also gave Larneuk Stud stallion Bramshaw his first winner.  He didn’t race either but was given an opportunity at stud being an Encosta de Lago half-brother to Commands and Danewin.

Bramshaw had 23 named foals in his first crop and, so far, four of them have been to the races.

Larneuk owner Nev Murdoch has upgraded the Euroa stud’s roster with O’Lonhro (Lonhro) in 2010 and One World (Danehill Dancer) this year.
