Rangeview repeater in Karrakatta

Rangeview Stud stallion So Secret can win a second Karrakatta Plate with Wacked Out at Ascot on April 1.

The TAB has introduced Neville Parnham’s promising colt at $15 for the $500,000 assignment after his Listed victory in the Perth Stakes (1100m) on Saturday.

So Secret sired Hobart Jones to win his first Group 2 Karrakatta in 2014.

Wacked Out had finished a forlorn last on debut, however, he made amends second-up for Colin Loxton.  The Cockatoo Ridge syndicate manager bought him for $42,500 out of the Rangeview draft at last year’s Perth Magic Millions Sale.

“His work had been excellent before that first-up run but he stumbled out of the gates,” Parnham said.  “He bounced out of the barriers today and showed acceleration before letting down really well.  Whether he can do that again in the Karrakatta is another question.”

Wacked Out (2c So Secret – Real Hi by Real Jester) is from an unraced half-sister to G1 Winterbottom winner Barakey and the dam of G1 Winterbottom winner Magnifisio.

So Secret (Danetime) was trained by Fred Kersley to win 5 sprints up to Group 3 level in Perth.  He has sired 50 individual winners to date at a 54% strike-rate and stood for a $3,300 (inc gst) fee last year.
