Pride proud of Wine ‘N’ Dine

Trainer Joe Pride labelled Wine ‘N’ Dine as a good advertisement for horse ownership after the tough gelding charged home in the TAB More Than Winning Hcp (1500m) at Rosehill.

The son of Geisel Park sire Foreplay has a well-earned reputation as an iron-horse – Saturday’s win was his fourth start in 18 days!  “I’m very proud of him,” Pride said.  “He’s been so consistent and dropping back in grade helped today.

“He just loves being at the races.  He’s had 18 starts and 5 trials this prep and keeps turning up and earning cheques.”

Under an inspired Jay Ford ride, Wine ‘N’ Dine rolled forward on the home turn and burst through the pack for a blanket-finish victory over Final Decision (Onemorenomore) and Avonaco (All American).

Wine ‘N’ Dine (6g Foreplay – Zelady by Zeditave) was a $55,000 buy at the 2011 Inglis Scone yearling sale and has now banked over $300,000 for owner George Mooratoff.

He was Mooratoff’s only horse until a Snitzel colt joined the stable from the Inglis Easter Sale in April.  “Wine ‘N’ Dine must have got wind of it,” Pride joked.  “He’s a lovely horse but wasn’t going to let this little Snitzel take his place without a fight.”

Foreplay is a proven son of Danehill with a fantastic pedigree and will appeal to WA breeders first-up this year.  His NSW & Victorian conceived crops have a credible 60% winners-to-runners strike-rate and progeny earnings over $7.50 million.

Geisel Park will stand Foreplay for a $4,500 (plus gst) service fee at Myalup.  For further details call Conor Dunlop (Stud Manager) 0447 434 735 or John Galluccio (Noms Mgr) 0419 953 074.
