Pressday put down at Eliza Park

Eliza Park’s stallion Pressday was put down on Friday because of a tumour on his spleen.  The Group 1 winning stallion headed the Victorian stud’s new Queensland operation at Innisplain.

Pressday (5h Domesday – Kaaptive Empress by Kaaptive Edition) was a G1 winner of the 2010 T J Smith Stakes at the Brisbane winter carnival and he returned to claim the G2 Sandown Guineas in November 2010.

Pressday was purchased as a stud prospect by Eliza Park but bled after the G2 Sebring Sprint at Rosehill in September 2011.  Sent to the United States, he failed to win in several starts with Californian trainer John Sadler last year.

Repatriated to Australia, he served an initial book of 52 mares in Queensland at a $9,900 (inc gst) service fee.
