Perfect 10 for Galileo

A phenomenal few days for Galileo continued at the Curragh on Sunday when his daughter Up won the G3 Lanwades Stud Fillies’ Stakes.

The victory gave the Coolmore Stud champion fully 10 stakes winners in less than a week.

Earlier, his superstar colt Frankel scored another remarkable victory in the G1 Juddmonte International Stakes at York while Twirl won the Hurry Harriet Stakes and Romantica the Prix de la Nonette.

On Saturday, Galileo sired Aigue Marine (Grand Prix de Clairefontaine), Cameron Highland (August Stakes), Lay Time (Winter Hill Stakes), Mikhail Glinka (Preis der Sparkassen Finanzgruppe), Quest For Peace (March Stakes) and Ursa Major (Irish St Leger Trial).

Up (3f Galileo – Halland Park Lass by Spectrum) led home an Galileo quinella on Sunday when beating Aloof just a few days after arriving back from the USA.  “She has always promised to be nice filly,” trainer Aidan O’Brien said.  “She will run again in the G1 Matron Stakes.”

Galileo (Sadler’s Wells) has sired 30 Group 1 winners and stands at Coolmore Stud at a private fee.
