Curraghmore Stud’s handsome Pentire colt fetched top price of $70,000 at the NZ Bloodstock South Island Sale at Canterbury on Friday.
Paul Harris Bloodstock bought him on behalf of Victoria-based trainer Mike Moroney. The colt is out of Colombia mare Aimee’s Idol and he will now head to Kilgravin Lodge before the decision is made whether to educate him in New Zealand or Australia.
With his sights set firmly on the colt before the sale commenced, Paul was delighted to secure him. “I thought he was the best of the horses in the Sale. As soon as I saw him I thought that’s Mufhasa. He has a very strong likeness to him.
“Mike trained Xcellent so he has a great association with Pentire and it would be great for that to continue.”
