Patinack Pane for Testa Rossa

Vinery sire Testa Rossa capped another successful afternoon with crack filly Pane In The Glass powering to victory in the G2 Silver Shadow Stakes at Warwick Farm.

Having her first start as a three-year-old, the heavily backed Pane In The Glass settled well back and wide before unleashing a relentless run down the outside to claim her fourth win in eight starts.

Pane In The Glass (3f Testa Rossa – Lyrics by Bluebird) was G1 placed in the ATC Sires’ Produce and Champagne Stakes earlier this year and the Silver Shadow lifted Testa Rossa’s stakes winners tally to 35.

The Furious Stakes (1400 metres) is her next target en route to the G1 Flight Stakes (1600m) in October and a possible trip to Melbourne for the G1 One Thousand Guineas at Caulfield.

The Silver Shadow victory crowned another stellar day for Testa Rossa in which he sired the winner’s of the opening races in both Sydney (Sienna Red) and Melbourne (There’s Only On).

Testa Rossa has reputation as one of Australia’s most consistent sires since moving from Yallambee Stud to Vinery in Scone.  His winning strike rate is over 70%.

Pane In The Glass also completed a winning day for Patinack Stud and trainer John Thompson.  Stablemate Kneeling (Encosta de Lago) had earlier captured the Listed Crockett Stakes at Moonee Valley.

“They’re two really nice fillies,” Thompson said.  “Pane In The Glass was just about the best two-year-old filly of the season.  The Princess Series is looking good for her.”

Pane In The Glass was sold for $32,000 by Sledmere Stud at the 2010 Inglis Classic Sale.  Her dam Lyrics has been a reliable producer at stud foaling winners by Gold Fever, Gilded Time, Fuji Kiseki, More Than Ready, Hussonet, Dubleo and now Testa Rossa.
