Paddock accident claims Mr Nancho

New Zealand based Linwood Park has reported the death of its 13 year-old stallion Mr Nancho.

Mr Nancho (Arg) lost his life after a paddock accident at the Cambridge stud.  He began stud duties at Stoney Bridge in Matamata in 2006 before relocating to Linwood Park.

The son of Southern Halo and Argentine Broodmare of the Year Miss Peggy was named Champion Argentinean Miler in 2004 after winning the G1 Premio de Palermo by 16 lengths.

His oldest progeny are five year-olds and, to date, there have been 26 winners of 59 races at a 41% strike-rate.  Two of those winners have risen to black-type success – Nacho Man (G1 Manawatu Sires’ Produce Stakes) and Miss Pelear (G2 Rich Hill Mile).
