NZB 2YO graduate favourite for 2000 Guineas

The last 24 hours produced three new updates to NZ Bloodstock’s Ready to Run Sale of 2YOs including Friday’s exciting debut winner Allez Eagle (NZ).

The three year-old son of Guillotine won the Rogerson Plumbing (1200m) in impressive style at Te Rapa following two eye-catching victories at the trials.  The Tony Pike and Mark Donoghue trained gelding wasn’t missed by punters who backed him into second favouritism behind the previously undefeated Cosmic Cube who finished third.

On the back of the win, Allez Eagle has been installed the new $5 favourite for the G1 NZ Two Thousand Guineas.  He has a full-brother catalogued in the Ready to Run Sale at Lot 312 for Diamond Lodge.

Thursday’s Wanganui  meeting produced another two winners that have siblings catalogued in the upcoming NZB 2YO Sale.

The Trudy Keegan trained Les Sylphides (NZ) was successful in the Tobique @ Grangewilliam Stud (2040m) . The five-year-old mare has a half-brother by Sakhee’s Secret catalogued at Lot 394 in the Ready to Run Sale for Dormello Stud.

Les Sylphides (Bachelor Duke) has won 4 races from 17 starts for her Canadian-bred dam Dancing Viking (Nureyev),

The Ready to Run catalogue was boosted in the very next race on the Wanganui programme with Lot 185’s half-sister Citadelle (NZ) winning the Double S Motordrome (2040m).  She was patiently ridden near the tail of the field by jockey Darryl Bradley and improved behind runners from the 800m mark to a clear out for a one length victory.

Citadelle (City on a Hill) is the second horse to win from two runners out of her dam Pub Singa (Danasinga).  The other winner is the stakes placed Ormand Road (City on a Hill), a runner in Saturday’s G1 Spring Classic at Hastings.

Lot 185 is by Road to Rock, a young son of Encosta de Lago, and will be offered by Magatiti Bloodstock.

New Zealand Bloodstock’s Ready to Run Sale of 2YOs will be conducted at Karaka on November 19 & 20.  The catalogue can be viewed at:    http://nzb.co.nz/sales/sale.cfm?sale_id=172
