NZ Bloodstock Winter Sale online

NZ Bloodstock has catalogued 75 lots for its Winter Sale at Karaka on August 3 including a selection of well-credentialed mares ahead of the breeding season.

The broodmare session highlights start with stakes winning mare Italian Princess (Bertolini) at Lot 19, Mydiamond Bracelet (Al Akbar) at Lot 26 and stakes placed Take the Cake (San Luis) who has been served by Sir Percy at Lot 37.

Stallions the calibre of Darci Brahma, Savabeel, Any Suggestion, Iffraaj, Mastercraftsman, Perfectly Ready, Sakhee’s Secret, Showcasing and Sir Percy are among those who have covered mares in the catalogue.

The 14 racehorses on offer include the stakes winning daughter of Holy Roman Emperor in Holy Moly (Lot 66).  A talented three-year-old, Holy Moly won the Listed Soliloquy Stakes earlier this season at Ellerslie and placed in the G3 James & Annie Sarten Memorial Stakes.

Holy Moly will be sold as a racing and breeding proposition along with the three-year-old Shutout (Lot 74).  A blue-blooded winning filly, the lightly raced Shutout is by the champion sire Redoute’s Choice and is from the G2 winning mare La Sizeranne (Stravinsky).

Sun Ruler (Lot 75) is due to make an appearance at Karaka for a second time.  A son of the champion sire Zabeel from mighty mare Sunline, he was purchased as a yearling from the 2007 Karaka Premier Sale for $2 million.

The Winter Sale also includes 6 yearlings, 5 two-year-olds, 14 racehorses and 9 unraced horses.

Catalogues for NZ Bloodstock’s 2012 Winter Mixed Bloodstock Sale are in the post and can now be viewed on the NZB website.
