Nominations closing for Inglis Race Series

Nominations for the Inglis Race Series close tomorrow (Friday, July 30) for 2010 Inglis yearling graduates.  A minimum of 20 Inglis graduate races and bonuses have been scheduled with $2.60 million on offer for two and three-year-olds throughout NSW, VIC and ACT.

Once again all nominations paid into the series are guaranteed to be dispersed as prizemoney, with a $50,000 Trainers Bonus for the most wins in the series.  Robert Smerdon was the recipient of the $50,000 Trainers Bonus with two victories in the first series, and currently shares the lead on two wins with Chance Bye’s trainer Mick Tubman in the current series.

Improvements to the upcoming series for 2010 yearling graduates include:

$400,000 (minimum) Inglis Guineas – Saturday stand alone at Scone (minimum raised from $250,000)
$250,000 Inglis Premier – To be run on Mornington Cup Day (10 days prior to MRC Blue Diamond S. G1)
$250,000 Inglis Banner – Formerly named Inglis Juvenile (Renamed after inaugural winner Starspangledbanner)
$50,000 Inglis 3yo Bonuses – More 3yo Bonuses will be scheduled should there be surplus funds remaining
Payment Options – Points can be redeemed from Racing Rewards and Partner Programs to nominate

The purse for this year’s inaugural Inglis Guineas which offered a minimum $250,000, reached $770,000 due to the remaining prizemoney after the bonuses were run.  With the success of this race and the backing of the Hunter breeders, the Scone Race Club have been granted a two-day meeting in 2011, highlighted by the stand alone Saturday, Inglis Guineas Day.

The new home for the Inglis Premier will now see it run on the popular Mornington Cup Day in February, 10 days prior to the Blue Diamond Stakes G1 on Caulfield’s Super Saturday, adding another line of form to the race.

Since Starspangledbanner (Premier $120,000) won the very first race, the Inglis Juvenile in 2008, the series has achieved great results for connections. Across each of the sales, from modest prices as little as $4,500 and all the way through to million dollar yearlings owners have celebrated success with Chance Bye (Classic $15,000) and Star Of Octagonal (Scone $23,000) being headline acts.

“The Inglis Race Series offers great incentives to yearling buyers across all sales and budgets,“ said Inglis Commercial Development Manager Matt Rudolph.  “In addition to the Sydney and Melbourne clubs, the non metropolitan clubs across Victoria, ACT and New South Wales have welcomed the support of the Inglis races.”

Owners can now redeem Racing Rewards points from a multitude of existing rewards program partners to use towards entry to the Inglis Race Series.
