No worries for God’s Own Warrior

Trainer Terry Evans was always confident Inner Warrior could bring up a hat-trick for the stable in the Tasmanian Sires’ Produce Stakes.

Inner Warrior (2g God’s Own – El Milagro by Encosta De Lago) had been a good thing beaten in February’s Magic Millions Classic and followed up with a Mowbray maiden win in March.  `”This race was always our target and he didn’t let us down,” Evans said last Sunday.  “I wasn’t the least bit worried.

“I’m always that way when this horse races – there is something special about him.  I just expected to win.”

Evans had claimed the last two Sires’ Produce Stakes with Pittenweem (Dash For Cash) and Western Hero (West Quest).  This year’s winner stayed wide and out of trouble before powering away to a three length victory

Inner Warrior is owned by the Horse Racing Tragics and the same syndicate races Western Hero.  He is by incoming Greta West Stud stallion God’s Own and cost $10,500 from Bowthorpe Stud at the 2012 Tasmanian Magic Millions.

His dam El Milagro won at Sandown and Moonee Valley and she has a yearling colt by God’s Own and another colt on the ground by Written Tycoon.

God’s Own (Redoute’s Choice) will stand his first season at Greta West this year.  He’s the third proven winner-getter on the roster alongside Keep The Faith (Sunday Silence) and King of Prussia (Anabaa).
