Niello colt heads for Magic Millions HIT Sale

The build up continued toward next month’s Magic Millions National Horses in Training Sale with a successful breeze up session held at Seymour on Thursday.

While the track wasn’t as lightning as the Gold Coast on Monday and Tuesday, the 70 two-year-olds impressed onlookers with solid workouts topped by 14 youngsters that broke the 11 second barrier.

A colt by Chatswood sire Niello was the quickest with a time of 10.30s.  He is from the draft of Nolen Racing (Lot 241) and is the second foal of winning mare Danelight (Danewin).

Colts by California Dane (10.62), King of Roses (10.64), Dane Shadow (10.76) and Danbird (10.79) rounded out the top five for the quickest breeze ups for the day.

“The horses breezed up in excellent style and vendors did a magnificent job with their presentation and training,” Magic Millions Victorian Manager Tim Brown said.  “Our times on paper don’t appear as quick as the Gold Coast – but the performances on a surface with more give were first class.”

Brown said the efforts of Penny Reeve and the team from the Seymour Racing Club were much appreciated.  “It was a really beautiful sunny day and Seymour were the perfect hosts for these important breeze ups.  The track was well presented and the facilities appreciated by all involved in the session.”

Later next week, video clips will be available for viewing on the Magic Millions websites.   The sale will be held at the Gold Coast on October 27 and 28.
