New-look line-up at Chatswood Stud

Former Makybe sire Purrealist will join a new-look Chatswood Stud roster in 2012. The transfer comes in the wake of Tony Santic’s decision to downsize and discontinue standing stallions at Makybe.

Purrealist (Tale of the Cat) retired to Makybe in 2008 and is among Australia’s leading first-season sires in 2010-11.

Chatswood owner Greg Willis has already signed G1 Caulfield Guineas winner Anacheeva (Anabaa) to stand his initial season in 2012. Group 1 Blue Diamond winner Reward For Effort (Exceed And Excel) covered his first mares last year.

Amadeus Wolf (Mozart) will shuttle to the Seymour property for his third southern season while stud stalwart Racer’s Edge is covering limited books aged 20.

Chatswood suffered a double-blow last year when Rakti and Niello both died. Willis also sold Primus to a Queensland stud at last week’s Great Southern Sale.

Purrealist stood for an $8,800 fee at Makybe and he will serve for the same price at Chatswood.
